What's in a name?

Built from a dream (both literally and figuratively), Robin Fern & Co. brings together two higher education professionals - Robyn Leuty and Darran Fernandez - with the hopes of contributing to the professional practice they know and love in a creative, innovative and future forward way. Most obviously it's a play on Robyn’s first name and Darran’s last name, but the bird and plant are also significant.

Robins appreciate the comfort of a large group, but when feeding and gathering they break off to smaller groups, maximizing the small and mighty for the greater good of the larger flock. Birds are beautiful and delicate creatures that remind us to soar high to achieve different perspectives.

Ferns are older than land animals and far older than the dinosaurs. They were thriving on Earth for two hundred million years before the flowering plants evolved.  They're wise and resilient beings.

Our designer, Fraser Hagen, brought two fern leaves together to form the robin in our Robin Fern & Co. logo, representing the strength, creativity and resilience of both plant and animal.
